Prepares digital advertising community for the ultimate World Cup packages
Dubai, United Arab Emirates –May 7, 2014 –Hosting a very energetic and sporty early evening get together, Digital Media Services (DMS) put on a highly attended networking event on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 on the rooftop of the Choueiri Group Building, situated in Knowledge Village – Dubai Media City.
The event served as a themed promotion for DMS’ media partners Kooora.com – the region’s ultimate and leading sports oriented digital platform, which will soon be hosting the upcoming excitement of the World Cup online.
Creating a welcoming environment for industry colleagues, partners and acquaintances to become better informed on DMS’ partnership with Kooora.com as well as the opportunities which brands can avail.
All guests were welcomed to the unique rooftop setting, which featured futuristic blue lighting hues (taken from the DMS logo’s color) which were cast across the entire venue, as well as notable fixtures highlighting the strength of Kooora.com. These included a virtual, motion-sensing enabled football penalty shoot off video game, freestyle footballers performing live and hostesses displaying the World Cup spirit in team football kits.
DMS’ Chief Operating Officer, Michel Malkoun took to a microphone to welcome in all his guests and elaborated on the new partnership with Kooora.com, and the presence of the senior management of Kooora.com at the event. In doing so he introduced CEO Mr. Mustafa Mohammad and stated that “Kooora.com’s stature in the Arab world owed a great deal to his leadership”.
He went on to state that “As of April 2014, the latest research from Effective Measure confirms that Kooora.com attracted 19.4 million unique users (UBs) and 601 million page views (PVs) in the MENA region. The breakdown for the GCC alone stands at 6.9 million unique users and 184 million page views. During the upcoming World Cup in June, the platform is projected to generate an estimate 1.2 billion page views, making it an almost indispensable platform for brands and advertisers”.
He also invited all agency partners, planner, etc… to partake in a long-held Kooora.com world cup tradition called “Football Bonanza” which will be hosted again this year.
Football Bonanza is a “World Cup” themed online game intended solely for advertising agencies, which allows participants chances to win 3 cash prizes, respectively amounting to Dhs. 50,000, 25,000 and 15,000. Mr. Malkoun also announced that Football Bonanza could be entered into for a small fee, where the sum will be given as a donation to the Children Caner Center in Lebanon.
Other fun-filled novelty surprises for the evening, included a very talented caricaturist who took the time to present many guests with their own personalized football themed caricatures, as guests were seen enjoying the live DJ music, and mixing it up with canapés and drinks served well into the late evening hours.
